Hi, I’m Catherine Zhang, an artist originally from Harbin, Heilongjiang, China. I moved to Portland, Oregon, at the age of 18 and earned my Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art from Oregon State University. I later completed my Master’s degree in Education Policy at the University of Washington, and I’m now based in Seattle.

My artistic practice explores different social phenomena, development trends, and personal perspectives, often shaped by my experiences of living and working across different countries. Through my art, I express reflection and critique, transforming observation into visual narratives on the canvas.

My work spans a variety of mediums, including acrylic painting, sculpture, digital art, screen printing, and mixed media. Each piece differs in style and technique, often reflecting my emotions and thoughts during creation. Recently, I’ve been especially interested in comic art, combining storytelling and visual form to explore social themes and personal emotions in new and engaging ways.
